Renowned National Geographic photographer and CBS Sunday Morning contributor Joel Sartore has spent 20 years photographing endangered species and landscapes to show a world worth saving.
In 2005, Joel’s wife Kathy was diagnosed with advanced breast cancer. She relapsed seven years later; the same year that Joel’s 18-year-old son Cole was diagnosed with stage 3 lymphoma.
A masterful storyteller, Joel shares his family’s trials, triumphs, and hope.
“In the history of humanity, there has never been a better time to have cancer,” Sartore says. “I strongly believe the work being done at the CU Cancer Center is making the illness more beatable every day.”
